Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 9, 2026
ChurnCards is supported by affiliate commissions. This page explains how that works and the safeguards we use to keep rankings honest.
What is an affiliate link?
When you click certain links on this Site to apply for a credit card, the card issuer or an affiliate network may pay us a commission if you are approved. The commission comes from the issuer's marketing budget — it does not increase your annual fee, interest rate, or any other cost to you.
How we earn
- Affiliate networks. We participate in affiliate programs including (but not limited to) CardRatings, CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction), and direct issuer affiliate programs.
- Commission per approval. Most issuers pay a flat commission ($30–$200) when a referred user is approved for a card. We do not earn anything if you click a link, are denied, or apply for a different card.
How we keep rankings honest
- Rankings are formula-based. Card rankings are calculated from objective inputs: bonus value, annual fee offset, minimum spend, and point valuations. Commission rate is not an input.
- Cards we don't earn from are still ranked. Some great cards do not have an affiliate program (or we have not been approved for theirs yet). Those cards still appear in our rankings if they earn a top spot on the math.
- No paid placements. We do not accept payment to feature a card, raise its rank, or omit a competitor.
- Bonus value comes from public sources. Bonus amounts are based on the publicly advertised offer at the time of writing. We track changes weekly and update rankings accordingly.
What this means for you
You can use ChurnCards exactly as you would any independent comparison site. When you find a card you want, you have two options:
- Click the link on ChurnCards. This costs you nothing extra and supports the site.
- Go directly to the issuer's website. Same card, same terms, same approval decision. We just don't earn the commission.
FTC disclosure (16 CFR Part 255)
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255: Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. ChurnCards has a material connection (an affiliate relationship) with some of the card issuers and networks linked from the Site. This disclosure applies to all pages on churncards.com.
Editorial standards
Cards we recommend are cards we believe in based on the math. If a card has drawbacks (high annual fee, low bonus, restrictive earning categories), we say so — even if it is one we earn commission from. Our long-term value to readers depends on getting this right.
