How much is a Chase Ultimate Rewards point worth?
Chase terms: Chase Travel redemption (standard rate) at 1 cent per point. Select promotional offers can raise that to up to 1.5 cents per point (Sapphire Preferred, Ink Business Preferred, Ink Plus) or up to 2 cents per point (Sapphire Reserve), depending on the card and offer; offers rotate and depend on availability. Sapphire Reserve cardmembers who applied before June 23, 2025 can redeem points earned before October 26, 2025 at 1.5x on Chase Travel until October 26, 2027. We checked these Chase terms on October 7, 2026; each row shows its own date. Transfer-partner values are hypothetical scenarios, not Chase terms.
How much is an Amex Membership Rewards point worth?
It depends on how you redeem. Our American Express rows are hypothetical editorial scenarios, last maintained on January 31, 2026, not American Express terms: statement credit 0.6 cents; amex travel portal 1 cents; transfer partners (hypothetical average) 1.5 cents; transfer partners (hypothetical sweet spot) 2.2 cents. What is the best way to redeem credit card points?
Transfers to airline and hotel partners can give more value per point than cash back, but results vary by route, dates and award availability. Use the "your own rate" field to test a redemption you have actually priced.
Do credit card point values change?
Yes. Each row in the calculator says what it is based on: issuer terms with the date we checked them, an issuer "up to" maximum for select offers, or a hypothetical scenario with the date it was last maintained. None is a guaranteed redemption rate.
